Finally a National Health Plan

A little late this note.  But … it is terrific that the bill passed.  Now it is time to explain to us what it means and how it will work.  Maybe a mailer to our homes.  While there was a great deal of dithering in Washington, and for a I while I was agitated about it, it is good to know that the ditherers have nothing over the ditherers in early American Politics.  Only the attire differs.  Think of Alexander Hamilton and think scoundrel banker.  He could have used a bit more gun control too.  The key for you and me is to just elect the folks we want in control and then wait for the next election.  If they do what we want, fine, if not “out with the old (only politicians of course) in with the new”.  And, remember that Andrew Jackson is the only President who actually paid off America’s debts.  Yup, paid it off.  Remember 2 that Jefferson’s Republicans are now Democrats, and …

Just read “Union 1812: The Americans Who Fought the Second War of Independence”.  It is a superb, short read and brief history of the American Experience.   And: “The Most They Ever Had” by Rick Bragg, a quick read about the cotton mill in Jacksonville, Alabama, an Appalachian town, horribly addicted to its Mill.  But there was nothing else there.  And: “Common Sense” by Thomas Paine.  I do wish he could say has in lieu of hath.  And: “The Whiskey Rebellion” in Pittsburgh.   I wanted to verify that George Washington had actually led an Army, while president.  He did but he went home before getting to battle.  But he was not the only president to do so.  James Madison, two days before the big Washington Barbeque sponsored by the Brits, left Dolly to fend for herself, and rode down the Peninsula to reconnoiter the Brit’s walking to Washington.

The best National Health Plan is a few good reads.
